Germany are the most successful team in the tournament having one eight times. They have also made it to the finals the most amount of times having made it that far eight times. Germany and Norway jointly hold the record for most times to reach the semi-finals with nine times each. They also hold most of the goal scoring records with most in one competition (21 in 2009) and most in the group stage (11 in 2001). The record for least goals conceded in the group stages is also held by Germany with 0 in 2005.

All of these are after the second match in the group stage. England currently has the most goals (9) and the joint highest passing accuracy (88%) with France as well as being equal with Germany for the most clean sheets with both teams currently have two. Spain is leading in possession (67%) and the most attempts on goal (45). Iceland is leading on the most number of saves with 14.
